Looking to Buy? Introducing this weeks Star Property For Sale in Penarth, Cardiff.
Updated: Mar 1, 2021
Penarth is an affluent area in the Vale of Glamorgan. The seaside resort was a highly popular destination during the Victorian times and remains so today. The town has developed rapidly over the years and houses a number of independent shops as well as a few chains.
The architecture is extensively Victorian and Edwardian which has led to a substantial part of the town being designated a Conservation Area. I personally love Victorian buildings but equally I adore the art deco architecture of the Washington Cinema, which is now a coffee shop and art gallery.
From the local shops there are a number of gardens and parks which lead down to the seafront. The pier houses the refurbished pavilion building which hosts exhibitions, films and events. Recently the seafront shops, restaurants and bars have been renovated, ready for the summer and some alfresco dining! All of which make Penarth the perfect place to live at any age.
Penarth is close to my heart as my paternal grandfather was born here and it holds such great memories for me as a child. It made sense my first Cartref Seren was here, especially as I followed the renovation, from start to finish, of my chosen property. My friend has done a fantastic job on her 3 bedroom home and now someone else will get the pleasure of living here, as it is currently for sale with David Baker and Co.
Just a short walk from the town centre and the seafront, the first floor apartment is in a converted Victorian house with its own front garden and garage. The interior has been sympathetically renovated, retaining many of its original features throughout such as the coving, picture rail and skirting boards. A new central heating system has been installed with imitation period radiators. There are three generous sized bedrooms, an extremely spacious lounge, a modern fully fitted kitchen and an indulgent bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate walk in shower.
This is an extremely spacious room featuring an original fireplace with a wood burning stove. I love the aspect of the bay window; perfect to curl up with a book on a sunny day or even when it rains and the log burner is on. I love the plantation shutters, which let all the light in but give privacy for where needed, enhancing the large sash windows.
A new fitted Shaker style kitchen with wooden worktop, porcelain sink and mixer tap. Marble tiled floor. Integrated Neff appliances include an oven, gas hob with extractor, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and wine fridge (much needed)! There is an integrated Hoover washing machine and a breakfast bar which is perfect to sit and drink your morning coffee while contemplating your day!
Period style black and white tiled floor. Walk in shower with large shower head, hotel style! Freestanding vanity sink and the best part: the freestanding roll top bath. I’ve always wanted one of those!
Large and light double bedroom, retaining many of its original features, such as the fireplace. Tastefully decorated and with a light fitted carpet.
Bedroom 2 and 3
Two double bedrooms with original features and period style radiators. Light fitted carpet.
Separate WC with ceramic tiled floor.
Garden is to the front and the side with a storage shed. Garage is accessed from Clive Place
This property has been given a really luxurious and elegant makeover as well as being sympathetically restored giving a homely feel. An apartment like this is perfect for people who wish to live close to the amenities of the town. Alternatively it would suit someone who wants the security of an apartment whom likes to spend half their time at a Welsh seaside resort and half their time abroad!
The apartment is currently on the market for £375,000, for all enquiries please call 02920 702622 or visit David Baker and Co website.
